O.W.L. The Full Story
THE OPTIMISTIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE (OWL)
Ever felt intimidated watching others bawl and thought I'd love to do that, but I know am not good enough to get out there and try. Well in 2005 Katie Beasley heard this chatter and decided to create a small league consisting of 24 members with a short bowling season. Here they could come out and just enjoy bowling and learn the basics without the regular season stress that sometimes come when placed in regular leagues. She solicited and encouraged a few experienced bowlers to participate and help teach let them know how much fun they could have. This league has been going strong since then and is now in their 18th year and has grown to 56 bowlers. It was Mrs. Beasley's dream (who has since passed) but it is still a reality.
